Job Vacancy: Communication Support Worker
Hours: Part time/16 hour contract
Hourly rate: £10.53- £13.80 depending on experience
Location: Dorset (Bournemouth and Poole area)
We are looking to recruit a part time Communication Support Worker on a sixteen hour contract to deliver British Sign Language (BSL) independent living and education support to Deaf clients throughout Bournemouth and Poole.
About the Role
This post requires you to provide communication support to Deaf people in their home, the local community and in education establishments. You will be required to lone work in the community, travel independently to a variety of job locations and to liaise with other communication and health care professionals.
This role would suit a flexible, enthusiastic individual who is looking to get involved with the Deaf community and develop their BSL. DCS is in a period of growth and as the demand for support increases successful applicants may be offered more permanent opportunities.
Support Worker requirements:
BSL Level 3 (working towards may be considered)
Experience of working with a variety of people who are D/deaf or with hearing loss.
Experience of working in social care/ support work
Competency in English, Maths and IT
Full driving licence and transport
Have an ability to work flexibly as part of a team as well as work alone and use own initiative.
